All first-year students in the College of Liberal Arts gathered this morning in the Whittemore Center for a welcome from Dean John T. Kirkpatrick, followed by advising meetings with College faculty and staff from a student’s area of study.
Nearly 1100 students have enrolled as freshmen in the College out of approximately 3,050 first-year students university-wide. This year, the College also welcomes just shy of 300 students who have newly transferred from other institutions and nearly 100 who have returned to their studies at UNH after a hiatus.
The College meeting is part of Wildcat Days, a 3-day program for first-year students that orients them to the campus academically and socially. In addition to academic meetings, students participate in activities in their residence halls, fill up at barbecues, learn about campus issues through “Wildacts” theatre skits, and are entertained by comedians, music, and more.
Good luck, first-year students, and work hard!
